When it comes to your health and healing, financial policies should be helpful and straightforward.
In the area of natural health, the financial aspects of healing can sometimes be fuzzy for patients.
We are passionate about being transparent with patients. Billing is a critical aspect of that commitment to transparency. Therefore, we have provided straightforward answers to frequently asked questions concerning financial policies:
FAQ – Financial Policies at Rupp Holistic Health
How are professional fees determined?
Our fees are based on time spent with the physician; the average fee is approximately $150 per 30 minutes, although this can vary based on the type of appointment. Please call our office for more information.
When will I billed for services?
Payment is expected at the time of service.
What forms of payment are accepted?
Cash, checks, VISA, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover are accepted, along with many health spending account cards.
This is probably a good time to reveal one of Dr. Rupp’s primary reasons for leaving a major health network after over 30 years of service.
As a patient when you go to a traditional physician’s office, that office and the doctors are bound by certain restrictions and limitations put in place by insurance companies.
The effects of the relationship between doctors and insurance companies are two-fold:
- On one hand, the parameters established by the insurance industry allow patients to walk in and out of a doctor’s office without providing any more than an insurance card and possibly a small co-pay.
- On the other hand, because those medical offices accept insurance, the doctors must abide by the insurance companies’ restrictions.
Dr. Rupp left the traditional medical world, because it is bound too closely to the restrictive policies of insurance companies. She found herself unable to fully assist in her patients’ healing journeys under such restrictions.
As such, patients at Rupp Holistic Health pay in full for the service they have received at the time they receive it.
In other words, our doctors do not participate in any health insurance networks, nor are they Medicaid or Medicare providers. Dr. Rupp and Dr. Huntzinger firmly believe this allows them the freedom to care for patients in the best way.
Are you sure my insurance company won’t reimburse me for services and time?
Any reimbursement you may receive for services rendered at Rupp Holistic Health would be based on your “out-of-network” provider benefits.
Will someone from Dr. Rupp’s office please call my insurance company or fill out paperwork concerning my out-of-network benefits?
When Dr. Rupp elected to open an office for patients who are seeking an alternative to traditional medical offices, she also liberated herself from the binding relationships and communication with insurance companies.
If you elect to involve your insurance company in your healing journey, any communication with that company and all related paperwork will be your responsibility.
